Professional Biography
Dr. Babatunde Onamusi is a board-certified Occupational and Environmental Medicine physician based in Lima, Ohio, with over 25 years of clinical and forensic medical experience. He is the founder and sole physician of Metrix Medical and Consulting, an independent medical consulting practice providing services across the state of Ohio.
Dr. Onamusi completed his residency training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and holds a Master of Public Health (MPH). He was previously board-certified in Internal Medicine, providing a strong clinical foundation that supports his ability to evaluate both occupational and non-occupational medical conditions. He is a long-standing member of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Disability Evaluation Panel (Ohio DEP).
Over the course of his career, Dr. Onamusi has completed thousands of independent medical evaluations, disability evaluations, permanent partial impairment (PPI) ratings, fitness-for-duty assessments, FMLA medical evaluations, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) IMEs, and medical file reviews. His evaluations and medical opinions are used by workers’ compensation attorneys, employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, risk & safety professionals, and public entities across Ohio.
Dr. Onamusi’s evaluations are recognized for being evidence-based (grounded in published clinical guidelines and objective findings), objective and defensible (structured to withstand legal, administrative, and peer scrutiny), and balanced (impartial, with no advocacy for either claimant or defense). Every evaluation, file review, and report at Metrix Medical is personally conducted and authored by Dr. Onamusi—there are no associate examiners or mid-level providers involved.
